Andy and Denise contacted us in August of this year asking if we were available for their wedding in October, now usually couples books us at least a year in advance, but luckily October is normally our wind down month with just a handful of weddings and by chance we had their date free. we met them shortly after in our studio in Guia and with Denise Bubbly personality and Andrews laid back but fun attitude we knew this was going to be a good wedding, as it turned out these guys are absolutely mental!!
Andy from England and Denise from Scotland met in the Algarve 15 years ago, they both now live in Lagos where they run their own bar The Tavern.
These guys booked us for the Luxury all day Algarve photography package so it was just Kellie and I, they were having their Algarve wedding at the Boavista Golf and spa resort which is a lovely venue with very friendly staff.
We arrived at the venue and found Denise in one of their villas getting ready with her two bridesmaids Amanda and Vicki and Denise’s Mum, all were very calm, Denise had already had her hair done and was having her makeup done my Mandy Ware Makeup artist, haven’t seen Mandy for a while so was good to catch up with her.
Once Denise had her dress and veil on we left and headed up to the Golf Club where we met a more nervous Andrew waiting on the upstairs terrace that over looked Lagos, Lucy Fox was the celebrant and once Denise and her bridesmaids arrived in the golf buggy they headed upstairs and the ceremony was under way and with over 100 guests there were lots of Denise and Andrews family and friends with them capturing the moment.
After the ceremony everyone went downstairs for the cocktail hour we had great fun with everyone at the group shots, as you can imagine with all theses guests it took a bit longer that usually but we had fun with everyone and as you can see the Scottish family came together all dressed in kilts holding the bride, and Denise’s Dad, Matt was not going to be out done by his daughter so had his blue guitar on under his kilt.
Once the group shots were done we grabbed the couple and went to a local beach where Andrew and Denise just wanted to have fun in front of the camera and as you can see that’s exactly what we did, we have never had a couple pose in a shower before but it had to be done.
These guys just wanted to have fun and we had lots of laughs on the beach, clearly these guys are crazy about each other but it’s all about the fun and living life to the full.
Back to the venue for speeches and their meal and then we took them onto the golf course for sunset shots, now everyone thinks we are just about the drama at sunset well this proofs that when we have a mad couple we just go with it like the top picture proves, these two were so much fun and we think we have defiantly captured their personalities in these images, we even managed to upset some angry german golfers because we were holding up their game, but hey it’s not everyday you get married!
Back to the Party for a quick photo next to the personalises 4ft letters and then cutting of the cake in front of the fireworks then straight into the first dance and we left this fun loving couple partying the night away with their family and friends.
What a great couple with great family and friends, we felt so welcome and had such a laugh with them. we will defiantly be popping into the Tavern for a beer or two when we are next in Lagos.
It was such a pleasure to be a small part of this lovely wedding . The preparation was fun , calm , Denise and her family and friends were a dream . Great to work with Kellie and James again, thank you for the makeup shot .

This was the most marvellous Wedding. Our lovely niece Denise and her great man Andrew are such a wonderful couple and their Big Day was just perfect.
