Fran and John Algarve Wedding
May Day Bank Holiday Monday saw us shooting the lovely Irish couple Fran and John who chose to have their Algarve Wedding at the Nau Sao Rafeal Atlantico.
We met Fran and John back in October when they were out here in the Algarve planning their wedding and we hit it off with them straight away, Most brides show us photos of their wedding dress, but no not Fran, she showed us a photo of her Jimmy Choo shoes that she got on a trip to New York, Fran was so excited to be wearing them on her wedding day, we loved their excitement and enthusiasm for the photography and we knew that this was going to be a great wedding.
The morning started in Frans Hotel room for bridal prep, we had our full Team with us, Kellie for Photography with second shooter Zoe, our resident eye in the sky Filipe and myself on Video and Photography as the couple had booked our Regal Package, so we set to work shooting Frans stunning dress, the details and of course the famous Jimmy Choo shoes which were stunning, Kellie did push her luck and asked Fran if she would swap them for her trainers, but she refused much to Kellie’s disappointment.… Fran’s bridesmaids Jennifer & Lisa were such a giggle and Charley the little flower girl was so cute and loved posing for some photos with Zoe.
Fran had her hair and makeup done by the talented girls from Love your style, Soraia and her team do the most amazing hair and makeup and their brides look stunning from the time they leave their room right though to the end of the day, they also have great personalities so it makes the whole bridal prep experience so much fun and a great start to the day, what more can you ask for.
Kellie and I went off to meet the boys leaving Zoe shooting the girls, We met the boys in reception where we had some fun in front of the camera, Claude, Johns brother was best man and was very nervous but managed to hold the rings for some shots we all had a little banter which helped everyone relax.
The Ceremony which was decorated beautifully by Ely Flores and was held down on the cliff tops and with our drone piloted by Filipe we managed to capture everything from land and air, we just love this venue for video and if you watch Fran and John’s extended highlights video you will know what we mean.
These guys had Jonas conducting their ceremony, Jonas does such a lovely ceremony, he knows how to bring romance, feelings and humour into a ceremony and really involves the friends and families, so after the Civil ceremony was completed Jonas did the blessing, which included hand bounding and a sand ceremony with sand from John and Frans home towns and sand from Sao Rafeal beach.
Fran and John wrote their own vows and there wasn’t a dry eye, such lovely words and its great to see a couple so in love.

After the ceremony the guests had ice Cream on the lawn and enjoyed a few drinks during the cocktail hour, Jonas did his famous video capture with the newly weds and they had great fun.
The Reception
The evening reception started off with the speeches and whilst the guest finished off their meal we took Fran and John down to the cliff tops to get some sunset shots and have some fun with our smoke bombs and new to our couples for 2017 our large sparklers….
The evening party was crazy, we have never seen so many Irish people dancing and enjoying themselves in one room and the dance floor was full, check out the video if you don’t believe me. The guys cut their cake and then it was our time to leave.
Fran, John, their family and friends made us all feel so welcome, such a lovely group of people and we feel we have made firm friends for life with this crazy dancing fun loving couple.

We fell in love with Sao Rafael for the beach , the cliffs & the goosebumps – James & Kellie captured the highlight video & live feed shared was “Frantastic” & “simply the best” – well done the wedding was Monday & highlights video sent on Wednesday
