Peace, Love & Rock ‘n’ Roll

The day of Kayleigh and Hayden and this was no normal Algarve Wedding, Kayleigh from the UK and Hayden from New Zealand met when they were back packing 5 years ago and due to Kayleigh having her family holidays in the Algarve for the last 17 years there was no other place they wanted to tie the knot.

We met Kayleigh in Alvor back in February on a dark and rainy day however her wedding ideas were so bright and cheerful, we knew this was going to be a wedding with a difference, after all the theme was Peace, Love & Rock ‘n’ Roll
These guys booked us for our Luxury photography package so it was just Kellie and myself today.
The morning of their wedding day was here and we arrived at Kayleighs apartment where there was an abundance of people, well she did have eight bridesmaids, yep thats right eight! Kayleigh was having her hair done by Libby Weijdom and her makeup done by Chloe Davies, we had never met Chloe before but have seen she was new to the Algarve Wedding industry and wow what a lovely person, so bubbly and friendly and did such great natural makeup on Kayleigh which Kayleigh wanted.

Bridal prep went by with a blur of people and colour, I mention colour as you will see from the images, Kayleigh had her bridesmaid in all the colours of the rainbow, once Kayleigh got her stunning but simple wedding dress on she picked up her rainbow bouquet and headed out to Bluebell the VW camper van which took her to her ceremony venue of Fortaleza da Luz. Kayleigh also chose to get married in bare feet with just simple yet elegant foot jewellery.
Hayden and his best man Caim were waiting for the bride at the alter however the six other groomsmen’s all in matching ties with the bridesmaids were waiting at the entrance and in pairs, colour co ordinating they walked down the isle and finally Kayleigh walked towards Hayden with tears in their eyes once seeing each other it was an emotional part of the day.
The Ceremony was conducted by Eileen Grant, who was Kayleigh’s Aunty, once the vows were said they did a sand ceremony and they left husband and wife followed by their colourful bridesmaids and groomsmen.
With such a large bridal party we could have some fun with the couple and these guys were great they allocated plenty of time for group shots, fun shots and a few one to one sessions which we just love.
After group shots overlooking the sea Kayleigh, Hayden, Kellie and I all jumped into Bluebell and headed up the coast where we had some fun with the adorable VW camper van, back to the Reception area which was at Barroca bar for a BBQ meal which was supplied by the Lovely Liza and Rick from TFP Caterers
Before we knew it it was 7pm and we grabbed the couple and headed off to the rocks for sunset shot, this was not just any rock this was the rocks that Kayleigh used to spend time as a child, these were the rocks where Hayden proposed to Kayleigh and now these were the rocks they were having their wedding photos on.
As the sun went down the couple enjoyed some time together and we captured this moment….

Back to the restaurant for speeches, and everyone watched video messages from friends and family back home in New Zealand that Kayleigh had arranged, wow now that was emotional…not just for Hayden to see all his family and friends who could not make it but for everyone, the couple went straight into cutting their cake, which was surrounded by cake Pops, which Kellie enjoyed….Nom nom and then straight into their first dance.

It was so nice that a bride wanted to make her wedding day her own, although still laced with tradition this wedding was unique and personalised with the very core beliefs of the couple. it was awesome for us to witness and capture and we would like to wish this amazing couple all the love and laughter for their lives together.
