It had been a week of weddings but we were very much looking forward to our next couple. Kerry and James from Ireland, now we had met this couple back in 2016 so you can imagine over the past few years we had become good friends, Kerry and I would often send little emails asking how our “James’s” were. So we were very excited when their day finally arrived.
These guys had booked our Elegance Package For Photography and Video, so had Myself (Kellie) and Olga on Photography, James and Brandon on Video and Filipe was our eye on the sky controlling the drone.
Kerry was getting ready in a villa at the Vidamar with her Mum, friends, family and 6 brides maids, Caoimhe, Blathin, Victoria, Casey, Louise and Elaine and when we arrived it was a hive of activity, Sharon from Make up by Sharon Phillips was doing all the makeup and Tamsyn from Algarve Wedding hair was doing everyones hair and with this team you are guaranteed a fun bridal prep. We spent some time with the ladies and then Brandon and I headed over to meet the boys in reception and grabbed a few photos and footage before they left for the ceremony location.
Kerrys mum Joyce helped her daughter get into her dress and with her jewellery and it was so lovely to see such a bond between the 2 ladies, we left everyone and drove over to Lady of the Rock (Senhora da Rocha) where the couple had chosen to have their ceremony.
Ines the Wedding Planner from Dream Day Weddings was already at the ceremony venue and the guest were arriving and being seated, James was standing at the alter patiently waiting for his bride to arrive, The ceremony was very romantic with the couples writing their own vows which brought a tear to all the team, you will hear them in the wedding highlights film and then they had their first kiss as husband and wife.
After the ceremony the couple walked away as husband and wife and whilst their friends and family enjoyed the ice cream that was being served by Lauren from Scoop IceCream Bike we asked Ines from Dream Day Weddings if they could leave the ceremony set up to do a never before done drone shot of the couple dancing, a big Thank you to Oura flores for holding back on packing the chairs away so we could get what was needed for their wedding video.
The day carried on with the speeches evening meal, cutting of the cake, first dance and then it was party time and what a party, the couple and their friends and family really let their hair down and had a ball.
Usually this is the time when we say good bye to our couples but not Kerry and James as they had booked a Trash the dress session for a few days later, so we met up with them again and what a great time we had, a Trash the dress session gives us more time to get the images and footage that couples just dont have time to do on their day and you dont have to “Trash your Dress” so we met up on a local beach near to the Vidamar, how can we not get some amazing images with this loved up couple.
Kerry and James are one loved up couple and we were honoured to be able to capture this for them, it was a pleasure working with them and their friends and family and we truly feel we have made firm friends, keep in touch guys as we so have to do more shoots in the future.
Sit back and watch the couples extended highlights wedding film…. Enjoy.
